Northampton Saints have confirmed that England centre Fraser Dingwall has signed a contract extension that will keep him at the club through to the 2026/27 season “and beyond”.

The extension ends recent speculation linking Dingwall with a move away from Franklin’s Gardens, with the centre now set to remain at Northampton for the long term.

The 26-year-old, a product of Saints’ academy first joined the system at 14 and has since gone on to make 150 senior appearances, win a Gallagher PREM title, and represent England at Test level.

“Being at Saints aligns with everything I want from rugby,” said Dingwall. “It’s my home club, and continuing this journey with the team and players I’ve grown up with is incredibly special. I genuinely believe Saints is the best place for me to keep improving.”

Dingwall made his senior debut in 2018 against Leicester Tigers at Twickenham and quickly became a regular in the matchday squad.

The 6’2, 86kg Bedford School alumnus began his international pathway with Scotland in 2017 before switching allegiance to England. He went on to represent England at Under-18 and Under-20 levels and captained the latter during the 2019 Six Nations and World Rugby Championship in Argentina.

His Test breakthrough came in the 2024 Six Nations, where he debuted against Italy and scored his first Test try a week later against Wales.

He added two more caps during the 2025 tournament, cementing his place among England’s emerging midfield options.

He was named on Sunday night in Steve Borthwick’s England squad for the Quilter Nations Series.

Saints’ Director of Rugby Phil Dowson said: “Dingers is outstanding – in his play, in his commitment, in his work-rate, in his leadership – and his impact within our set-up cannot be overstated.

“He is someone who often flies under the radar and doesn’t always get the credit he deserves, but he’s a huge part of what we’re about. His defence, his ability to cut a line, his late footwork carrying the ball, and the way he can put people in space is world-class and that’s something we’ve known at the Club for a while now.

“That he’s now earning recognition with England reflects the strength of his character and relentless work ethic. He’s not just a brilliant rugby player, but a genuinely good man who has a huge impact on the connectedness of the group and influences how we operate on and off the field.

“He understands the value of relationships – with teammates, coaches and staff – and has become a key voice in our set-up.”
