Every year, the Hollywood Foundation runs their Back to School Campaign, making a powerful impact by donating school supplies to local communities. This year, the Hollywoodbets Sharks joined forces with them to bring something special to a deserving school, gifting R30 000 worth of essential supplies.
The Hollywoodbets Sharks chose Umzinyathi Primary School in Inanda, a place with deep ties to the Sharks Pups Programme. This partnership shows that the teamwork and passion we see on the rugby field can translate into the classroom. The Sharks Pups Programme isn’t just about developing future rugby stars; it’s about shaping confident, disciplined, and well-rounded individuals ready to take on any challenge.
Last week, Hollywoodbets Sharks players Aphelele Fassi and Andre Esterhuizen visited the school with the Hollywoodbets Foundation to handover these important supplies. They also brought mascot Sharkie along to add some fun for the kids. It was an amazing day and experience to be a part of.

“These supplies are more than just tools – they’re keys to unlocking your dreams,” says Sharks representative Nick Byrne. “Education is your superpower. Whether you dream of becoming a teacher, scientist, doctor, or even a Hollywoodbets Sharks player, your journey begins here. So grab those pencils, open those books, and let your imagination run wild.”
Nick concludes, “It truly takes a village to raise a child, and today, we are proud to be part of that village. With the help of organisations like Hollywood Foundation and programs like Sharks Pups, we’re building a stronger, brighter future for all.”
