Springbok flyhalf Handre Pollard is reportedly set to further his club rugby career in Japan.
The double World Cup winner will leave the Leicester Tigers at the end of the 2024-25 season when his contract expires.
According to RugbyPass, while there is interest from several Japanese clubs, Tokyo Sungoliath is leading the race for Pollard’s signature. His Springbok teammate, Cheslin Kolbe, joined the club after last year’s World Cup.
Meanwhile, the Bulls may lose out on tighthead prop Carlu Sadie, who was set to return to South Africa when his contract with Bordeaux finished at the end of the season.
RugbyPass says the French Top 14 club is in advanced talks to keep the 27-year-old for another two seasons but has yet to reach a compensation package agreement with the Bulls.
Sadie played for the Stormers, Western Province, Lions and Sharks, and also had a short stint with Stade Francais.
